An early notification of a date for your diary. This year’s Christmas party and presentation evening is to be held on Friday 2nd December at Glossop Golf Club. The venue, buffet and entertainer have been booked so put this date in your diary for later in the year. The last couple of years its been a great night out and a really good way to kick off the festive season so don’t miss out get it booked down now.

The annual summer bowling day out is to be held this year on Sunday July 10th. This involves a coach trip out to a bowling venue, a bowling competition during the afternoon followed by dinner in the evening. For full details contact Barbara Taylor or the club secretary Stan Perkins (contact details on the contacts page). A sheet is now up on the notice board in the bowling office at Manor Park for people who want to attend to enter their details.

( Please note that the competition for the David Collier Memorial Trophy is to be played during the summer day trip to Rose’n Bowl,  Bacup on 21st June).

It is with great sadness that we record the recent death of Joe Bassett. Joe was a past President and Chairman of Manor Park Bowling Club and a life member. He will be greatly missed by all his bowling colleagues and friends at the club and also by the many friends he made at other clubs during his long bowling career. We extend our condolences to Joe’s family at this sad time.

Joe’s funeral is to be held at the Central Methodist Church Glossop on Thursday 5th March 2015 at 11.30am.

There has been a delay in publishing the photos taken during the evening presentations due to a technical issue with the website. This has now been resolved and so the photos are now shown on the Gallery page.

The party was held on Friday 5th December at Glossop Golf Club and a great time was had by all. The venue, food and entertainment were excellent making the event a great success. Many thanks to all the staff at the golf club who made us very welcome and did a great job on the night, to the entertainer whose music had the members up gyrating for most of the evening and also to the bowling club members who assisted with the raffle and the presentation. Photos taken of the presentation and also of the event in general will appear on the Gallery page in due course, watch this space. Put December 4th in your diary for next year’s party (the golf club venue has already been booked).

This is now only two weeks away on 5th December. From the number of tickets sold to date it looks like it will be really well supported and should be a great evening. If you haven’t got your tickets yet there is still time just give the club secretary Stan Perkins a ring and he will be more than happy to supply them. Here’s to a great night out, see you there.
