Winter Bowling on the Bottom Green

If your going stir crazy and missing bowling, don’t worry as the the Manor Park bottom green will be staying open throughout the autumn and winter months.

If you’re not a member then social membership is only £20, and if you’ve never been a member of the club before its free until next season – not bad considering you can use the bottom green as much as you like.  Anyone interested should email the club  at bowlingmanorpark@yahoo.com

Top Green to Close on 31 October

Unfortunately the time has come for us to close the top green to protect the playing surface over the winter months so it can be in top condition when the season starts again in April. The top green will therefore be closing on 31 October.

However, the club is keeping the bottom green open over the winter months  The bottom green isn’t in as good a condition as the top green, but the club has plans to improve the playing surface by carrying out additional scarifying, aerating and applications of moss killer.  In addition, we have asked the council’s park staff to assist our green team with leaf clearance, which is always a problem at this time of the year, due to overhanging trees.
