Trevor Hines

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Trevor Hines has passed away.
Many of you will have bowled with Trevor in various teams over the years.  He was a great bowler and long time member of our club.  Trevor also bowled for Glossop Bowling Club.
We wish to send condolences to his family.
Trevor’s funeral will be held at Dukinfield Crematorium on Thursday 22nd September at 13.30. There is a wake afterwards at Glossop Cricket Club.

Lots of New Young Bowlers at Manor Park Fun Day

We took part in the Manor Park Fun Day today. There was a huge amount of interest from more than 30 people to have a go at Crown Green Bowling. Our volunteers were rushed off their feet. Well done to all of them for helping to introduce new players of all ages to this wonderful sport which is gaining renewed attention after the Commonwealth Games.

If you are a local or High Peak resident and want to try bowling or join the club, see the website page on becoming a member for details (under the “About Us” menu, on the “Joining Us” page), or come along to one of our social bowling sessions taking place on Tuesdays and Sundays from 10 am – 12 noon.

MP v Mayor Charity Match

High Peak Mayor beats MP in a close run game, but MP’s team wins overall match. Many thanks to both Ollie Cross and Robert Largen for agreeing to take part in our charity match on Sunday 14th August. Overall £257 was raised for the Mayor’s charities.

High Peak Mayor’s Charity Bowls Match

Manor Park Bowling Club is proud to announce that the club will be hosting the High Peak Charity Bowls Match on Sunday 14 August 2022 between 10 am and 1 pm. There will be two teams of club members playing in a friendly six-a-side singles match.

We hope the teams will be captained by Ollie Cross, The Mayor of High Peak, and Robert Largan, MP for High Peak. As part of this it is envisaged that Ollie Cross will play Robert Largan in a fun and friendly bowls match. The club will award a trophy at the end of the match.

It would be great if members could come down to the bowls club to cheer on the teams and donate some money towards the charities. We will be selecting two teams to play in the match in the near future.

The bowls match will be hoping to raise money for the Mayor’s Charities: The Glossopdale Food Bank and High Peak Community Arts Hummingbird Project. There is a link below if members want to make a donation to the charities. Members should be able to donate money to the charity on the day of the bowls match if they prefer.
