Mixed Doubles Round Robin Competition – 27 June
Free Entry for all All Members
On Sunday 27th June we are organizing a mixed double competition round robin.
This will be a free competition for members and social members. Start time 12pm – Approx. finish time 5pm
Refreshments will be available courtesy of the club and a raffle has been arranged with prizes donated by Manor Park delegates.
The money received from selling raffle tickets will go to the club to help funds after a terrible 18 months.
Please let us know if you want to participate, as when we know how many would like to play a seeded draw will be made to partner team players with new members.
Off to a Flying Start
In our first league match of the season our Stockport Vets team beat South Reddish Park 70 – 58.
Mowing the Green
Our bowling greens will be opening on Friday 2nd April and our ground maintenance team have done a wonderful job mowing both greens today in readiness tor the big day.
Free Membership Offer for New Social Members
Bowling is a great way of getting some outdoor exercise. The Bowling Green is open from 2 April and this season the club is offering Free membership for any NEW social member (usual price £12). We can even hire you a set of bowls, subject to a small deposit to get you going. For more information contact our club Secretary (Bryan Buckland) on 07547 593796

Tameside Vets and Ladies Leagues
Regrettably we are withdrawing from both the Tameside Vets and Tameside Ladies leagues due to shortage of players. The door is open to us to return to the leagues next season if we can increase the number of players.
The ladies team is still intending to practice on Wednesday evenings and play friendlies against other clubs in the area.
Green Opening from beginning of April
We are hoping to open the green from the beginning of April. We applied fertiliser last Wednesday and will be scarifying the green at the end of March, subject to weather conditions, after which we should be good to go.
Maureen Beattie
We have been informed that Maureen Beattie sadly passed away earlier this week after suffering with cancer. Our condolences go out to her family and friends.
Maureen was a long standing member of the club and played in the Tameside Ladies and High Peak Mixed Pairs leagues.
The family has informed us her funeral will be a private affair. Donations can be made to cancer research.
